How to drink beer and save the world part 1
I have just started reading a fairly long but very interesting book about drinking beer and saving the world. How can this not pique your curiosity?! The author has a look at the history of beer but not from the normal “beer began in the middle east, then..then…then…” He is inspired by things like the Craft Beer Revolution (me too!) and also sustainable business and how these actually go hand in hand.
He argues that the reason that man changed from nomad to farmer was so that he would be able to grow the grains needed for bread and in particular for beer. Beer then sparked the industrial revolution and has been the source of many of man’s problems and solutions. He professes that drinking beer can be good for you and for the environment.
Since many of us are not able to find the time to get through a long blog post, let alone a full book, I will share with you any tidbits of interest and humour that I come across while reading this book. Maybe you might even find yourself getting a copy and sitting down to attempt it with a glass of craft in the hand (I think I might need someone to brew me a coffee beer for this little task).
Until the next insert of this post….Cheers
