One of the first craft beers on the scene in South Africa, the Brewers & Union Berne Unfiltered Amber Lager is an old-style German beer style with bready, toasted malts with hints of caramel and toffee and grassy hops.
- Cloudy amber colour
- Creamy head
- Malty, yet dry with grassy hops that balance well
- Food pairing: braised lamb, roast chicken, ribs, duck, seared tuna, beef carpaccio, cheddar
Rob Heyns' Mixed Case Tasting Notes:
April 2014 - Freedom Day Case - This unfiltered amber lager is from the people who first brought the ‘cool’ to craft beer in a big way in SA. They have not been around as long as brewers like Mitchell's, but have made their mark and earned their stripes as senior members of the craft beer movement and, yes, they are still pretty cool.
- Alcohol by volume: 5%
- Volume per bottle: 500ml
